Armed police deployed to Bristol street amid ‘weapon’ fears

Armed police have been deployed to a concern for welfare incident in Bristol.

Armed officers were called to Jacob’s Wells Road at around 11.30am today (November 14) due to fears of a “weapon” at the scene, said a police spokesperson.

No arrests were made at the location, and there is believed to be no threat to the public.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Constabulary reads: “Police attended an address on Jacob’s Wells Road, Bristol at around 11.35am today following a report regarding a concern for a person’s welfare.

“Armed officers were deployed due to the potential presence of a weapon.

“On arrival, no-one was present at the address. Enquiries are ongoing.

“There is not believed to be any threat to the wider public.”
