Attempted murder charge over Southmead shotgun attack

A man has been charged with attempted murder after two people were shot in the Southmead area of Bristol.

Blake Hoskins, 20, of no fixed address, has also been charged with causing GBH and affray, a firearms offence and criminal damage, Avon and Somerset Police said.

He appeared before Bristol magistrates by video-link but did not enter a plea.

Mr Hoskins, who was arrested on Friday night, will next appear before Bristol Crown Court on 20 July.

A man remains in hospital for treatment to shotgun wounds, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A woman was also taken to hospital for treatment after the shooting on Thursday, and was discharged the same day.
