The driver of a white BMW ‘left the scene’ following a crash on the M32 northbound this afternoon, police have revealed.
The carriageway was briefly closed completely following an incident involving three cars at junction three St Paul’s shortly before 2pm today (May 27).
In the aftermath of the crash, Avon and Somerset Constabulary have released an appeal for any witnesses on the scene who could help with the investigation, after revealing that one of the drivers had left the scene.
A spokesperson said: “Police were called to a two-car collision under the M32 at junction 3 just before 2pm on Monday 27 May. “The location of the collision meant there was some traffic congestion.
“One lane was reopened just before 3pm. The other lane remains closed pending recovery of the vehicles.

“The driver of one of the cars – a white BMW – left the scene.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information which could help the police investigation is asked to get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact , or by calling 101, quoting reference 5219117338.”
As well as police, three crews from Avon Fire and Rescue – one from Temple Fire Station and two from Bedminster Fire Station – attended the incident. A spokesperson from the service confirmed there had been no fire or persons trapped, and crews had assisted with the initial road closure.
It is not yet known whether anybody was injured in the incident, however South Western Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
