BRISTOL – The Board of Education honored six staff members with its annual Staff Achievement Awards at its June meeting.

This year’s recipients are:

o  Ashley Albert, administrative assistant in the Office of Teaching and Learning.

o  Marcy Deschaine, third grade teacher at Mountain View Elementary School. She was also named Teacher of the Year at the same meeting.

o Paige Flint, school psychologist at Mountain View.

o  Shawn Mirmina, head of the guidance department at Bristol Central High School.

o  Robin Percival, literacy coach at Chippens Hill Middle School.

o  Natalie Torres, child and family advocate at the Greene-Hills K-8 School Family Resource Center.

“They were feted at a reception a couple of weeks ago so we got to know them better. Board members got to sit with them and chat,” said Superintendent Susan Moreau.

“These are special people who go far, far beyond their job description and really do great work with our kids, so we thank you,” she added.
