Another death linked to Covid-19 has been recorded in the Bristol region and a further 508 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours.
The death was recorded in the City of Bristol – and the new cases bring the total number in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire since the pandemic began to 98,878.
Bristol city recorded 252 new infections, while South Gloucestershire recorded 151 and North Somerset 105, according to the latest official figures published by Public Health England on Sunday (August 29).
Bristol’s total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic currently sits at 54,378.

Nationally, the Government said a further 61 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 132,437.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 156,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 33,196 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.
