Bristol has recorded its highest daily increase in Covid cases since February 12 – just over four months ago.
In the last 24 hours, 96 new cases of coronavirus were recorded within Bristol which is the highest daily increase of cases since 106 positive tests were returned on February 12.
It brings the total number of cases within Bristol to 31,732 since the start of the pandemic.
The latest figures, published by Public Health England, revealed that the region, including Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire recorded 175 new cases in total in the last 24 hours.

Bristol saw the biggest increase of cases with 96, while South Gloucestershire recorded 30 more.
Bath and North East Somerset returned 28 positive tests while another 21 cases were discovered in North Somerset.
There were eight new deaths recorded in the UK in the last 24 hours, although none of them were within the Bristol region.

A total of 71,343,859 vaccinations have been given across the UK to date. 41,551,201 of those were the first dose and 29,792,658 were the second dose.
574,551 total doses were given within the last 24 hours across the UK, the highest daily number of jabs given in over a week since June 5.
In Bristol, 3,707 people received their first jab within the last 24 hours which is the most people receiving their first jab in a single day since May 8.
A further 1,760 received their second jab from within Bristol as well.
