Bristol traffic live: Crash on Bath Road and M5 busy as bank holiday continues

A crash has blocked a road in Bristol this afternoon, amid delays on motorways near the city due to holiday traffic. A collision was first reported on Bath Road in Brislington at around 2pm, and partially blocked the route going east.

Traffic is still queuing from Callington Road to Emery Road, according to road monitoring site Inrix. Meanwhile, there is congestion on the M5 due to holiday traffic.

Drivers are being held up on the southbound route from J19 A369 Martcombe Road ( Portishead ) to J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon). We’ll bring you the latest traffic updates in this blog.

An estimated 19 million drivers will hit the road at some point over the long Platinum Jubilee weekend, a new survey suggests. Some 53 per cent of respondents to an AA poll of 13,062 motorists said they will drive at some point between Thursday and Sunday.

They will face record fuel prices, with the average price of petrol reaching 174p per litre on Tuesday, while diesel climbed to 183p per litre. The survey also indicated that Jubilee street parties will be particularly popular in the South.
