Roadworks are continuing to cause traffic disruption in Bristol today (Friday, April 1) as some key routes in the city are closed.
The A38 Malago Road in Bedminster is shut due to long term roadworks from B3120 St John’s Lane to Lombard Street. Traffic and travel site Inrix says: “The A38 is southbound only until summer 2024.”
There are also temporary traffic signals causing delays on other major routes, including along the A38 Cheltenham Road, and on Salcombe Road in Knowle.
Construction work is also underway on the A432 Badminton Road in South Gloucestershire as the council widen cycle lanes along the route.
Meanwhile there is no through traffic allowed on Union Street in Bristol city centre.
The AA’s live traffic feed says: “No through traffic allowed on Union Street Westbound from The Horsefair to A38 Bridewell Street. Only buses, bikes and taxis may now go through this section which is now a Bus Gate.”
