WINDHAM – State police this morning are at the scene of a local apartment complex for an incident that reportedly seriously injured a 2-year-old child.

Details are still forthcoming regarding the incident, with state police this morning issuing conflicting reports regarding the condition of the child.

Police responded to an incident at Scott Road in Windham, at the main entrance to the Windham Heights apartment complex.

The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad vehicle was stationed, while troopers were standing outside an apartment entrance.

State Police at Troop K in Colchester responded to the scene at about 12:30 a.m.

The child was transported to an area hospital by the Willimantic Fire Department, according to Trooper Marc Petruzzi at the scene.
