A further 10 coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in Bristol care homes in the last two weeks of May, official statistics have shown.

The total number of care home deaths in which COVID-19 was a factor now stands at 116, which covers the period between April 10 and May 29.

Authorities have issued statements about the prospect of a “local lockdown” after North Somerset saw another eight coronavirus deaths.

Meanwhile, across the UK, Boris Johnson warned yesterday at the daily briefing people should not gather in large groups indoors as the weather turns.
