Twenty-six families with youngsters unfamiliar with post-16 property were quit “extremely distressed” when accounts landed from the local important earlier this month demanding account.

“A statement will be put against the Local Offer website and parents who have not previously been lately informed and consulted (those where students are new to post-16) will be contacted on to tell them that this is each error and to apologise regarding it.
“I’m sorry this has managed at the end of such a difficult spring for many families.
“It’s rather than an excuse but I do think the game probably reflects workforce exhaust and the impact of lasting working from home.
“The Home to varsity Travel Team has been extremely hit through Covid with been going above and beyond focusing evenings and weekends to deal with disrupted routes/drivers/school and a college degree closures etc and ensure those individuals children who need travel stimulate it. ”
A Bristol Settlement Council spokesperson said: “It is not a statutory work for the council to provide traverse for post-16 education and the is usually paid for by parents/carers and individual benefits.
“However, our policy is to make sure that parents are fully aware the bank asked for contributions prior to any kind of invoice being sent.
