Driver reported for careless driving after ring road crash

A motorist involved in a collision with a pedestrian on the Bristol ring road has been reported for careless driving.

The crash happened on Wednesday (November 4) just after 11am. A female pedestrian collided with a Toyota Auris on a crossing on the A4174 by the Abbey Wood roundabout at Filton Avenue.

The woman was taken to hospital with injuries not believed life-threatening or life-changing.

The road was closed until about 2pm, causing congestion in the area, while emergency services dealt with the scene and the vehicle was recovered.

The driver of the car has now been reported for careless driving.

A police spokesman said: “The driver of a car involved in a collision on the A4174 on Wednesday 4 November has been reported for summons for careless driving.

“The collision involving a Toyota Auris and a woman crossing the road happened at the Abbey Wood roundabout at about 11.10am.”
