BRISTOL – Police are investigating what is believed to be an accidental drowning.

Police said officers on Friday, shortly before midnight, were called to the area of Hull Street and Porter Court on the report of a missing 31-year-old woman. Police found the woman dead behind a neighbor’s house.

Detectives and an investigator from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner were called to the scene. Police said they do not believe the death is suspicious, but investigators are still reviewing video surveillance recordings and awaiting the results of an autopsy.

The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of her family. Police still had not identified the woman publicly as of Sunday evening.
