Eagle-eyed fans have spotted what appears to be an “old school” peace sign on top of the Pyramid Stage, as the Glastonbury Festival 2022 set-up continues.
Hundreds of thousands of festival-goers are once again expected to flock to Worthy Farm next week, as the five-day live music event makes an epic comeback after two years of cancellations due to the pandemic. World-renowned acts such as Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Sir Paul McCartney are set to take to the stage between Wednesday, June 22 and Sunday, June 26.
Many fans are tuning in to the BBC’s web cam from the farm as the festival site takes shape, and some have spotted a retro touch. @TheGlastoThingy shared a screen shot this afternoon (June 14), tweeting: “Looks like they may be going old school on the Pyramid ornament?
“I like it, but of a throwback.” One person responded: “If only the peace symbol didn’t have to be brought out in 2022.”
Another post shared on a Twitter account called ‘Glastonbury Festival Fans’ today read: “Well, it looks like the peace sign is going on the top front of the pyramid stage. I wonder if we will see a sunflower on the front?”
The style of the peace sign looks similar to the CND symbol that frequented the stage during the 1980s. In 2019 the Pyramid was topped with a large planet Earth surrounded by petals.
