Iceland, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda urgently recall products

Supermarkets are urgently recalling a series of items over safety fears.

Alerts have been issued by the Food Standards Agency for a range of products, including beef lasagne, fruit sherberts, and chocolates.

If you have purchased any of the affected items, you can return them to the store for a full refund.

Beef Lasagne

Worthenshaws Ltd is recalling Kirsty’s Classic Beef Lasagne because it contains a statement on the label that the product is free from all 14 allergens, which is not accurate as the product contains oats (that are gluten free).

Oats is also not emphasised on the label. This means the product is suitable for someone following a gluten free diet, however, it is not suitable for those who have an allergy to Oats.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The affected product was only sold in Iceland stores.

Therefore, the product contains walnuts (nuts) which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to walnuts (nuts).

The Paleo Foods Co. is recalling Cocoa and Hazelnut Grain-Free Granola containing Brazil nuts because they may contain salmonella.

The recall relates to the product of a pack size of 285g with a best before date of August 2020, September 2020, October 2020, November 2020, January 2021, February 2021 and March 2021.

They are also recalling the 6x285g packs with the same best before dates as above.

The products listed above may be contaminated with salmonella.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the Tesco store or where you bought them from for a full refund.

Chicken breast toppers

Iceland has recalled their own brand Chip Shop Curry Chicken Breast Toppers because salmonella has been found in the product.

Lidl GB has taken the precautionary step of recalling Deluxe Dark Chocolate Muesli Bar with Brazils and Cranberries because the product might contain salmonella.

The recall relates to their deluxe dark chocolate muesli bar with brazils and cranberries.

The pack size 3x45g are affected with a best before date of August 2020, September 2020, October 2020, December 2020, January 2021, February 2021, March 2021 and April 2021.

The product listed above may be contaminated with salmonella. Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the Lidl store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Chicken popsters

Iceland has recalled their own brand Southern Fried Chicken Popsters because salmonella has been found in the product.

Sainsbury’s semi-skimmed UHT milk

Sainsbury’s has taken the precautionary step of recalling by Sainsbury’s semi-skimmed less than 2% fat 1 litre UHT milk because of possible microbiological contamination that could lead to spoilage.

This may make the product unsafe to consume.
