In pictures: Huge queues at reopened McDonald’s drive-thrus

McDonald’s fans queued for a long time today (Wednesday) to get their hands on a Big Mac as the fast food giant reopened.

At one point St Philip’s eatery had a 30-long queue of cars piled up.

But pictures from Portishead and Bedminster showed similar jams as people reportedly waited over an hour for their meal.

Staff at all of the outlets were wearing face masks and dishes were served in packages saying: “Food safety is our number one priority.”

The reopening started with restaurants at Western Links in Weston and Queensway in Worle yesterday (June 2).

This was followed today by Bristol’s restaurants; Fishponds Road, Fishponds; Cribbs Causeway; Bath Road, Brislington; Highwood Lane, Patchway, Sheen Road, Bedminster; Abbey Wood Retail Park, Filton; Hengrove Leisure Park and Aspects Lesirue Park in Longwell Green.

Drive-thrus also opened at restaurants in Portishead Retail Park and West Walk in Yate.
