A statement posted to the National Rail service website reads: “A points failure between Bristol Parkway and Swindon / Gloucester is causing disruption to journeys between these stations.”

The statement noted that services “may be” cancelled or delayed up to 60 minutes or journeys will be revised.

It continues: “We anticipate disruption will continue until the end of the day.”

The rail service recommends that travellers check the trains before setting off on your journey.

Rail users may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay and should keep train tickets to support a subsequent claim.
