A long-running boat trip operator based in Bristol with an “exceptional reputation” is up for sale.
Avon River Cruises has hosted leisure trips for a range of private events on the city’s waterways for more than 20 years, including hen and stag parties, birthdays, weddings, school trips and corporate events.
The company has also provided a well-used commuter service since launching in 1999, but its owner is now seeking retirement.
A new owner is required to take over the business and “continue running operations smoothly”.
The buyer would be taking on The Silver Salmon boat, although there is also the option to buy Avon River Cruise’s other boat, The Spirit of Freedom.
All pier structures and moorings, as well as longstanding office and maintenance staff, would also be included in the sale.
An “informative, interactive website” would come as part of the package too and the current owner is willing to offer a handover by staying on in a consultancy role.
The Silver Salmon is described as an “impressive 72ft widebeam barge” which features a fully stocked bar, a great selection of food options, a five-star food hygiene rating and robust safety equipment.
It can accommodate up to 67 passengers, making it one of the largest passenger holding boats in the harbour.
Avon River Cruises has received plenty of positive reviews over the decades and has a rating of 4.3/5 on Google.
