M4 traffic live: Severe delays in Wales after crash brings motorway near Newport to standstill

All traffic has been held on a stretch of the M4 in Wales after a serious collision.

There are severe delays on the eastbound motorway near Newport from junction 24 for Coldra to junction 23a for Magor Services. Congestion is back to junction 27.

Motorists are facing journey times of up to one hour and 20 minutes on the affected stretch.

The latest from traffic and travel service Inrix at 7.45am says: “All traffic being temporarily held and severe delays due to accident on M4 Eastbound from J24 A449 (Coldra) to J23A A4810 (Magor Services).

“Congestion to J27 (Highcross). Travel time is 1 hour 20 minutes.”
