M5 traffic delays for 50 minutes as load shed on carriageway – updates

There are delays along the M5 motorway for 50 minutes as a load has been shed on the carriageway this afternoon (Saturday, June 4).

The incident, which was first reported at 3.40pm has closed a lane on the northbound carriageway just before J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead). Traffic camera’s show long delays in the area and queues are currently lasting 50 minutes.

There is stop-start holiday traffic along the M5 as well, compounding delays. Inrix the travel monitoring site reports: “Stop-start traffic due to holiday traffic on M5 Northbound from J26 A38 (Wellington) to J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway). Slow in patches.”
