Three lanes on the M5 motorway have been closed this morning (Sunday, August 8) due to flooding, as torrential rain pelts the South West.
On the northbound carriageway, all traffic is being held following a crash between junction 20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon) and junction 19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead).
Traffic camera images also show standing water on the southbound carriageway between Portishead and Clevedon, which has closed lane four of four.
The stretch between junction 19 A369 Martcombe Road and junction 20 B3133 Ettlingen Way, has been affected on that side.

Inrix, a traffic website that monitors crashes and delays on roads around the country, updated drivers on the lane closures.
It said: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M5 Northbound between J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way ( Clevedon ) and J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead). Traffic held since 06:20. A lane is closed on the opposite side for flooding.”
Another update said: “One lane closed due to flooding on M5 Southbound from J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead) to J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way ( Clevedon ).
“Traffic is coping well. Lane four (of four) is closed. Two lanes are closed on the opposite side for an accident.”
