M5 Northbound closure and congestion
M5 Northbound is closed this morning (3 August) with queueing traffic due to a crash. Police investigation work is ongoing between J8 M50 and J7 A44 (Worcester / Evesham).
There is congestion to J9 (Tewksbury), where some traffic is getting off and heading through Aston Cross.
Parts of the M5 will remain closed throughout the day for police to complete investigation works.
Once this is complete there is a 100 litre spillage of diesel which will then require treating. Traffic trapped within the closure at the moment is being turned around.
There is a diversion in place via the M50 and the A38 through Upton upon Severn. Traffic is already severely delayed here.
