M5 traffic live: ‘Spillage’ closes lanes in Somerset as morning rush hour begins

Two lanes on the M5 are closed as commuters begin their morning commute today (Tuesday, May 10).

The lanes have been shut on the M5 southbound from J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) to J24 A38 Taunton Road (Bridgwater South). The closures have been caused by overrunning roadworks due to a spillage.

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the lanes are “expected to remain closed into the morning”. We’ll bring you the latest updates as we get them.
