M5 traffic LIVE: Two lanes closed after vehicle fire causing huge queues – updates

Emergency services are responding to a vehicle fire on the M5 this morning. Crews were called to the scene at 7.55am.

The fire happened on the M5 northbound between junction 15 (Almondsbury Interchange) and junction 14 (Thornbury / Falfield). Lanes one and two (of three) are closed.

As a result, there are major queues on the M5 northbound and also some slow traffic on the M4 westbound as vehicles queue to access the M5 at the Almondsbury Interchange.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix says: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to vehicle fire on M5 Northbound between J15 M4 (Almondsbury Interchange) and J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield).

“Lanes one and two (of three) are closed.”
