A man has appeared in court following a serious assault in Easton last week.
Six men were arrested following the attack in Stapleton Road on October 22 which led to a person getting rushed to hospital.
Aden Mahmoud, 42, of Stapleton Road, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today (October 26) where he was charged with assault.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Bristol Crown Court on November 25.
Five other men were arrested in connection with the assault, with two having been released on bail, another released under investigation and the other two released without charge.
The attack, which happened near Stapleton Road’s junction with Robert Street, left a person with injuries to their head and neck.
The route was partially blocked while crews helped the victim, with a diversion in place for a number of bus services.
A police statement issued after the attack announced that a man and a woman had been arrested.
However, an updated statement revealed that a woman had not in fact been arrested and a total of six men were in custody.
