Man arrested after barricading himself in Bristol property

A man has been arrested following a disturbance in Bristol this afternoon (December 1). The police were called to Stapleton Road in Easton at around 3.55pm.

On arrival, officers found a man had barricaded himself inside the property. He was eventually arrested and taken into custody.

The road was blocked by officers while they carried out the arrest. It eventually re-opened at 6.30pm while neighbourhood officers remain at the scene to carry out reassurance patrols.

Avon and Somerset Police said: ““We were called to a disturbance in Stapleton Road, Bristol at about 3.55pm this afternoon (Thursday 1 December).

“Officers attended and a man barricaded himself inside an address. He has since been arrested and is being transported to custody.

“Neighbourhood officers remain in the area conducting reassurance patrols.”
