Man arrested for drug offences after window smashed at vulnerable woman’s home

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and being in possession of an offensive weapon. This came after reports of a window being smashed at the home of vulnerable woman.

Police were called to Westminster Road, in Whitehall, last Friday (September 2) at 12.45am to reports of the window being smashed. Avon and Somerset Police said officers boarded up the window and conducted a routine search of the property.

During this search, they found several items including drugs and an offensive weapon which they seized. The force’s statement said a 27-year-old man was then arrested this morning (September 8).

The statement reads: “We were called to Westminster Road, in Bristol, at around 12.45am on Friday 2 September following reports of a window being smashed at the home of a vulnerable woman.

“Officers boarded up the window and conducted a routine search of the property. During this search, they found several items including drugs and an offensive weapon which they seized.

“This morning (Thursday 8 September), a 27-year-old man has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug, possession of a class A drug and being in possession of an offensive weapon.

“Enquiries into the criminal damage and the items seized is ongoing and officers are keeping an open mind if there is any link between the two.”
