A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted rape in Bristol.

Hamid Mohammed, of Cooper Square in Durham, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, February 19).

The charge relates to an incident earlier this month, on Saturday, February 1, when a woman was attacked in Ashley Road, St Paul’s.

Magistrates sent the case to Bristol Crown Court for a preliminary hearing and Mohammed is next due to appear on March 16.

Mohammed has been remanded in custody.
