Man critically injured as police descend on south Bristol

A man has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries following an incident in south Bristol.

An air ambulance, as well as other emergency vehicles were pictured at Rowan House in Hartcliffe.

Armed officers surrounded the tower block, but police say there is ‘no wider risk to the public’.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were called by the ambulance service shortly before 6pm this evening (Thursday 16 September) to an incident in which a man was found critically injured at a residential address in Bishport Avenue, in Hartcliffe.

“At this time we believe this to be an isolated incident and there to be no wider risk to the public.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
