A Filton man who admitted sexual activity with a girl aged 15 has been jailed.
John Norris took the youngster to his flat in Shellard Road and abused the child twice, Bristol Crown Court heard.
Police who investigated her disappearance found her hiding under his bed.
Norris, 22, pleaded guilty to two charges of having sexual activity with a child as well as breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. (SHPO)
Judge James Patrick handed him a nine-year extended sentence, comprising of four years’ prison and five years’ extended licence.
The judge told him: “In my judgement you pose a significant risk of causing serious harm to members of the public by the commission of further specified offences.”
Norris was told to sign on the Sex Offenders Register for life and was made the subject of a SHPO designed to stop him re-offending, including no unsupervised contact with females under 18 and ni unchecked internet use.
The court heard Norris had previous convictions for exposure, having sexual activity with a child and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Virginia Cornwall, defending, said her client’s background involved a lack of advantages and a lack of education.
She told the court: “He thought he was meeting a 16-year-old for sex.
“She said she was 16 when she wasn’t.
“Custody will impress upon him that he has to learn and move forward in his maturity and his attitude.”
