The past few days, temperatures have started to significantly drop.

As it gets colder, it is the time to wrap up and put the heating on, but many of us have something else on our minds: snow.

Just watching it fall from the comfort of our homes is something so special and it now looks like the South West could be hit with snow this week.

On Monday, the Met Office revealed what the chances are of a White Christmas in the UK this year but it seems we could see snow much sooner than that.

The Met Office forecast for today (Tuesday, December 1) is for a dry day, becoming cloudier later, but feeling cold.

Wednesday will also be another cold day, with the Met Office saying: “A cloudy start with patchy drizzle soon developing. Early in the afternoon, a band of rain will move across the region.

“The evening will bring colder and clearer conditions. Maximum temperature 9 °C.”

So it isn’t until later on this week that we may see snow, just in time for the weekend.

The Met Office South West forecast for Thursday to Sunday says: “Feeling cold on Thursday, with frequent showers, these heavy and wintry at times.

“Remaining cold and unsettled for Friday and Saturday, with wintry showers, possible coastal gales and hill snow.”
