Orange Twirl Easter eggs are now a thing – at Tesco and B&M

Shoppers are delighted with the latest type of Easter egg available: Orange Twirls.

During the past few years, Cadbury’s Orange Twirls have been the chocolate bar craze in Bristol – being so elusive that some people didn’t even think they existed, but bringing post-lockdown joy to fans in the city again in 2020.

And fans are ecstatic that B&M and Tesco are now selling the chocolate bar as part of their Easter egg range. Other retailers may be selling them, but so far these two are the only ones to have been mentioned on social media.

The product contains one large egg and two chocolate bars, with B&M selling them for £3.99.

B&M wrote on its Instagram page: “Easter is one of those strange times of year that creeps up on you before you know it!

“We’ve already got some amazing #EasterEggs in store now, and if the past few years are anything to go by, they’ll be gone QUICK!

“If you could create an Easter Egg… what would you make?!”

One fan described it as the “ideal” Easter egg, saying: “This is my ideal Easter egg twirl and orange together”.

And many can’t wait to get their hands on one.

One shopper wrote on social media: “Omg, I’m defo having one of these.”

And another said: “if there was ever a year to buy me an egg its this one!!!”

“I neeeeed this,” wrote another.

However, some were disappointed that retailers were starting to sell their Easter range in January.

One wrote: “It doesn’t creep up that fast… it’s January.”

“Way too early,” said another.

In 2019, the orange Twirls suddenly appeared in limited numbers in convenience stores in Bristol, and sold out quickly – with people setting up whatsapp groups to share information about which outlets still had them, or had got new supplies in.

Cadbury’s even launched what was almost certainly the first pre-order system for a chocolate bar – as if it was a pop star’s next hit album – giving people the chance to register to buy the 70p treats in advance of everyone else, and in advance of them appearing in the shops.
