Police are investigating what appears to be a stabbing in Hartcliffe.
One onlooker in Randolph Avenue messaged Bristol Live saying: “Taxi driver stabbed, lacerations to the face and puncture wound near the lung.”
The incident occurred around 7pm today (Oct 31, 2020).
An armed police response unit was first on the scene, say witnesses.
Police taped closed off the road and taped off a section in the middle.
Another person told us: “I rang the police, the taxi driver was was very scared.”
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “Shortly before 7.20pm tonight (Sat. Oct 31) we were called to Randolph Avenue, in Hartcliffe, after a male taxi driver was wounded.
“He was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his chest and a facial laceration. He is believed to be in a stable condition.
“Officers, with assistance of the police helicopter, conducted an area search.
“A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and wounding with intent. He remains in custody.”
