A police officer faces a three-day misconduct hearing after allegedly lying about why he failed to attend an event.

PC Dave Adams was due to give a presentation in September last year but did not turn up.

He is accused of giving a dishonest, misleading and inaccurate explanation and lying about working from home.

The notice for his hearing at the Avon and Somerset Police HQ in Portishead says he failed to take responsibility for his actions and tried to deflect the blame.

The alleged breaches amount to gross misconduct.

The hearing will begin on July 6.
