A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Lawrence Weston.

Paramedics were called to De Clifford Road at 3pm on Saturday (April 18) after the collision involving the male pedestrian and car.

A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We treated a male patient at the scene and took him to hospital for further care.”

A witness said there were six police vehicles on nearby Long Cross shortly after the accident.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said officers were called to assist the ambulance service.
