Suspected hate crime in St George’s Park – police make arrest

An arrest has been made after a suspected hate crime incident in St George’s Park in Whitehall on Saturday (September 25).

A 30-year-old woman was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police this morning (Monday) on suspicion of assault and a public order offence.

Officers were called to St George’s Park at around 5pm on Saturday following reports of an altercation between a number of people at the park.

Police are treating the incident as a suspected hate crime, and enquiries continue into what happened.

Additional high-visibility police patrols have been carried out since the incident in order to provide reassurance to the public.
