Traffic lights ‘stuck on red’ in Stokes Croft causing ‘heavy’ delays – live updates

Traffic lights on Stokes Croft are ‘stuck on red’ this morning (June 6), reportedly causing long delays for drivers. The temporary lights at the junction with Ashley Road have malfunctioned and drivers are being warned to avoid the route.

Travelwest wrote on Twitter: “Temporary signals at the junction of Stokes Croft/ Ashley Road are currently stuck on red. Expect long delays and avoid the route if possible.”

And traffic monitoring site Inrix wrote: “Heavy traffic due to traffic light failure on A38 Stokes Croft at B4051 Ashley Road. In the roadworks area. Temporary traffic lights are stuck on red.”

This is not the first time that this has happened in recent weeks. On May 31, the same thing happened, and one driver described it as ‘total chaos’.
