Two men come forward after incidents before play-off final

Two men have come forward in relation to incidents that happened ahead of the Vanarama National League Play-Off Final on Sunday (June 20).

The two incidents took place before the Hartlepool United and Torquay United game.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “Two men have come forward after incidents in Bristol ahead of the Vanarama National League Play-Off Final on Sunday.

“A 19 year old and 42 year old, both from Hartlepool, are assisting our enquiries into an assault on an officer and another public order matter.

“Thanks for sharing our appeal.”

Fans from both teams congregated in the city before the game at Ashton Gate Stadium.

Police had released images in relation to the suspected assault on an emergency worker and a separate public order incident.
