PLYMOUTH – No police presence was seen at Eli Terry Jr. Middle School Thursday, despite several new organizations reporting Wednesday night there would be.
The increased police presence at the school today was because of a threat made on social media Wednesday, news organizations report.
According to WFSB, an email was sent to parents Wednesday saying a Snapchat picture of an automatic weapon with the words “pray for ETJMS” was sent from a student at the school.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Martin Semmel and Principal Angela Suffridge were not immediately available for a comment.
Plymouth police declined to confirm or deny the reports.
