A major emergency response is in progress in the St Werburgh’s area of Bristol.

999 calls were made from around 7.15pm onwards this evening and all three emergency services have rushed to a location on York Road.

The annual St Werburgh’s Summer Fair is taking place in the area, so the streets around are full of people.

Eye witnesses are describing firefighters smashing down the door to gain entry to a large car repair garage, with reports that a person has fallen through the roof of the building and is lying injured inside.
