Groping a teenage girl’s chest cost a man a jail term. Gintaras Kontautas made the 14-year-old child lift her arms up, a court heard
After pulling her top up and her bra down he touched her breasts and licked one. Kontautas, 38, of Monkton Avenue in Weston-super-Mare, denied wrongdoing.
But after a trial a jury at Bristol Crown Court convicted him of having sexual activity with a child. Judge Mark Horton jailed him for three years.
The judge told him: “Every single sexual assault causes emotional and psychological harm. It is well known to affect mental health and wellbeing. It causes distrust of men and distrust in relationships.”

Kontautas was told to sign on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. He was banned from working with children and vulnerable adults.
The complainant read a victim personal statement to the court in which she stated the abuse made her feel both angry and sad. She said she attempted suicide as a result and had adopted an alternative career path.
Sasha Bailey, defending, told the court her client lived with his mum and had neither offended before the incident nor afterwards. She said: “He must be punished, I accept that.”
Miss Bailey urged the judge to pass a sentence of imprisonment which could be suspended. She asked, if it was to be immediate prison, for the sentence to be as short as possible.
