When did Terry Pratchett write The Abominable Snow Baby?

A Christmas classic, The Abominable Snow Baby was first written in 1968 and published in the Bucks Free Press.

The story follows a grandmother and her grandson who live in a quintessentially English town, which is quickly thrown into disarray by a massive snowfall and the unexpected dramatic appearance of a 14 tall abominable snow baby.

It’s a popular read, for children, especially around the festive season.

However, although The Abominable Snow Baby is a popular book at this time of year it is by no means Pratchett’s only one.

He is best known for his long-running Discworld series, which tells many stories about the men, women, dwarves, trolls, gods and other fantasy creatures that live on the Discworld. When does The Abominable Snow Baby air?

The Channel 4 animation adaptation of The Abominable Snow Baby is airing today on Christmas Day at 7.30pm.

It will also be available to watch on All 4, after airing, on the Channel 4 streaming platform, All4.

Starring in the film will be David Harewood, who will be narrating the programme, whilst Dame Julie Walters will play the grandmother and High Dancy plays her grandson.
