Police have arrested a woman after an officer was attacked with a bottle in St George Park in Bristol.
At least two police cars, two police vans and around 10 officers attended Church Road this afternoon (Saturday, January 23).
They were called just before 3.30pm by a witness reporting a woman being “abusive and aggressive” towards members of the public in the park.
An Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman said earlier today: “A PCSO was patrolling the area and attended within five minutes.
“This officer was hit on the head with a bottle and activated her emergency alarm.
“Further police units attended and a woman was detained at about 3.40pm and taken to hospital for assessment.

“The PCSO has remained on duty and officers resumed their patrols by 4.20pm.”
The spokeswoman has now confirmed police have arrested a woman in her 40s on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
The suspect remains in police custody this evening.
