Woman hit by car on Redcliffe Way left with ‘serious injuries’

A pedestrian has been left with significant injuries after being hit by a car on Friday, January 14.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary attended the collision, which they say involved a car and a female pedestrian, on Redcliffe Way in Bristol, at around 10:30pm yesterday.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital where she is currently being treated for serious injuries.

Her family have been notified.

Road closures, which were put in place to facilitate an investigation at the scene, were lifted at around 4:20am today (Saturday, January 15).

The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and remains in police custody at time of writing.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
