A Bristol woman has been jailed for 11 years after she attacked another woman with a knife and hammer and left her with serious injuries.

Danielle Hill, of Cutler Road in the Bishopsworth area of the city, attacked her 34-year-old victim in the early hours of Thursday, March 12, causing injuries to her head, neck and leg.

Hill was found guilty of causing grevious bodily harm with intent following a trial at Bristol Crown Court.

She was cleared of a further charge of attempted murder.

Following her sentencing, investigating officer DS Simon da Costa of Avon and Somerset Police said: “The victim was left with some very serious injuries and is still deeply affected by her ordeal.

“I hope this conviction and resulting jail sentence will in some way help her to move on from this incident.”
