SEVENTY-THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of drink/drug driving following breath tests by Gloucestershire police.
More than 1,000 tests have been carried out so far as part of a campaign to reduce the amount of drink-drivers on the roads over the festive period.
The arrests include 46 on suspicion of drink-driving, 26 on suspiction of drug-driving, with one arrested on suspicion of both offences.
Tests have been carried out across the county, from Dursley to Bourton-on-the-Water, with the number of arrests already higher than the total from last year’s campaign.
A Tweet from Gloucestershire police stated: “Please have a Merry Christmas but choose zero & #safeandsocialdriving when it comes to taking to the road.”
