
MULTIPLE roadworks which are in place in Stroud are causing delays across the town.
Some of these works have just started, some are nearing their end and others are part of Severn Trent’s £25 million upgrade of sewerage in Stroud.
Here are the roadworks which are causing delays.
1. Stratford Road
There has been a traffic control (two-way signals) in place all week.
This – which is due to drainage works – is due to end tonight (October 28).
2. London Road, Bowbridge
In London Road there is a traffic control (multi-way signals) in place.
This began on Monday, October 17 and is due to end on Friday, December 16.
These works are in place at Bowbridge crossroads and are due to a permanent signals upgrade.
3. Park Road
There has been a road closure in place here all week due to utility asset works.
This is due to end at 4pm today however.
4. Nelson Street
There has been a road closure here since March 14 this year due to the Severn Trent Water £25 million sewerage upgrade in Stroud.
These works will end on 16 Jun 2023
In addition there is also a closure due to works being undertaken by Openreach – this began on Monday, October 24 and is due to end on Wednesday, November 9.
5. Middle Street
There is also a road closure which has been in place since March 14 this year as part of the Severn Trent project.
These works are also due to end on 16 Jun 2023
6. Acre Street
There is also a road closure which has been in place since March 14 this year as part of the Severn Trent project.
These works are also due to end on 16 Jun 2023
7. Dudbridge Road
The contraflow system in place here is also because of the Severn Trent project.
This began on Monday, August 8 and will be in place until Friday, March 3.
8. Stroud Road
There is a traffic control (multi-way signals) in Stroud Road just before you reach Painswick.
This started on Thursday, July 7 and will end on Friday, November 4.
9. Wick Street
Finally, a road closure was also recently put in place here.
The closure – due to work being undertaken by Wales and West utilities – was in place on Thursday, October 6 – it is due to end on Wednesday, December 14.
