Gloucestershire police were called by a resident on Rodborough Common who had heard what sounded like a child calling from a large car as it drove past at around 9.30pm last night (Sunday, March 5).
Despite a search of the area and inquiries at nearby homes, no trace of the car or child has so far been discovered.
Police say they would like to find out what has happened and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
In particular, officers would like to speak with the car’s occupants to ensure that everyone is safe.
