This is after it was reported that a racially offensive remark had been made to a Forest Green Rovers player.
A 23-year-old man from Liverpool has since been released on bail with conditions not to enter Gloucestershire unless to answer bail or for a prearranged solicitor appointment, not to go to Forest Green and not to contact any person employed by Forest Green Rovers Football Club.
“There is a zero tolerance approach to racial abuse and we continue to work alongside the Football Association and Forest Green Rovers Football Club as part of an investigation,” said a police spokesperson.
