AN AUTHOR from Minchinhampton has written a series of children’s books about her two cats, set in Stroud.

Carrie-Jean Mason has written 14 books on Bunty and Brax the Cotwolds Cats.

The books are based on Carrie’s own cats and she started writing in January after a house fire forced her to temporarily rehome the pair.

“Writing a children’s book was a fresh idea so I embraced it,” Carrie said.

The books are aimed at children aged four to seven and are rhythmic pieces in the same vein as The Night Before Christmas.

Carrie, who has written plays performed at Edinburgh Festival, is now looking for a publisher for her books. They are being illustrated by Tarren Malham with Evie Johnson voicing the audio version.

The Kindle version is available now on Amazon and the audio book will be out in August, with the hardback version and ebook due in November.
